Online Disordered Eating Therapy
About disordered eating
Sometimes, our relationship with food goes beyond simply being a lifestyle choice. Disordered eating may have serious impact and can be very dangerous if left untreated. Though on the surface it may look like unhealthy choices with food, eating disorders are rarely about only food intake. They are often complex coping mechanisms to deal with other underlying issues with family, environment, relationships, work and/or self-image. Disordered eating may often impact your quality of life resulting in you making choices to maintain the disorder rather than improve your well-being. At Ari Therapy we can work together to identify the function(s) of your disordered eating and the maintenance of it. We can then work together to develop coping mechanisms and healthy strategies to cope with the root cause of the disorder to make sustainable changes.
